ABOUT PARKDALE PACERS
HISTORY
The Parkdale Pacers Basketball Club was founded in 1993. It was initially known as the St John’s Basketball Club, due to its association with St John Vianney’s primary school in Parkdale. Teams wore a blue and white uniform and the club fielded a small number of teams at the Sandringham Basketball Association (SBA) in Tulip Street Sandringham.
In 1997 the club changed its name to the Parkdale Pacers Basketball Club and updated its uniform to a more modern style, while changing its colours to a distinctive teal and white. In recent times the club has experienced great success with one of the highest levels of participation in the SBA.
The Club is Incorporated and affiliated with both Southern Basketball Association and Basketball Victoria.
Currently, the Club consists of approximately 700 junior members playing across more than 87 teams. We offer qualified training in the skills of basketball and formal games played against other local clubs in the Bayside and Kingston communities.
The Club continues to experience strong growth, thanks in great part to the dedication of our coaches (all volunteers) and the wonderful families that are part of the greater Pacers family.
